Wildcats sweep to NDA championship

In head-to-head competition, the Widdifield Wildcats and Chippewa Raiders split four games during NDA play this season.
Fortunately for the Wildcats, they won their two games during the best-of-three championship final to sweep to the NDA senior girls’ volleyball title and earn a berth at the NOSSA AA’ championships this weekend.
In front of a noisy home crowd, the Wildcats downed the regular-season champion Raiders 3-1 (25-13, 25-20, 20-25, 25-20). The clinching point came on Wildcat hitter Becky Wideman’s smash at the net.
“This team, we just came together so well, and it’s awesome to be able to have this experience with all these girls,” said the Wildcats Leesa Church, who displayed her athleticism by digging up several well-hit balls.
