For the first time in school history, a senior girls' volleyball team has advanced to the OFSAA championships.

At the ROPSSAA "AA" finals held at Mentor today, the Marauders defeated St. Martin's 3-0 (25-13, 25-17, 25-22) to qualify for the OFSAA tournament in Dryden at the beginning of March. Mentor defeated Mississauga 2-1 and Ascension 2-0 to advance to the championship game.

The setting of Christina Rosso led to many kills by power hitters Nicole Kirkpatrick and Catherine Townend, while the serving of Adrianna Cowdrey kept the opposition on their heels most of the day. Middle hitters Natasha Taylor and Amy Gildner played great games at the net, and 4th year player Kat Johnstone contributed some fine back court play.

The girls continue their quest for a ROPSSAA league playoff spot, and currently have a 3-2 record.
